When I am burning energy, under stress,
have lost sleep, or weather is warm, my body automatically says "Drink,
drink, drink!"
It is not uncommon for me to drink between
a half and a full gallon in a one-hour time period. And then
drink more through
the day. The
only time I really forget is when I sit a lot at my computer in a
cool room and the body is not hardly moving. Then symptoms develop
such as angina (tightness in my chest), lethargy, headaches, restlessness
in my sleep, foggy head, my complexion becomes rough, sore throat,
and, last but not least, major constipation. Well, that's enough
to keep that water bottle by your side!
I do believe if people would
begin to train themselves to drink more water, it would eliminate
a lot of problems. Water speeds the metabolism
and helps a person burn more calories (helps you process stored fat).
I don't use Fiberblend when I drink lots of water.
Water will flush
the system and keep things moving and help eliminate the toxins. Some "top" bodybuilders drink 2-4 gallons of
water a day. Although I do think that is too much for the average
person, as one can overdue a good thing and deplete their potassium
levels. I tell people many times who have trouble losing weight to
drink more water. It sounds just too simple, and we humans are looking
for a fancier way to solve our problems.
Dr. Loraine Day, national
speaker and author of the video You Can't Improve on God says that
when the body is dehydrated it has to go
into drought management. (People a lot of the time are not even aware
at this point.) This process can cause low back pain, arthritis,
ulcer-type pain, and angina from simply not drinking enough water.
One can also develop high blood pressure. The body produces histamines
- histamines in turn produce substances like prostaglandins, which
produce the pain.
I believe water regulates all body function.
On
a spiritual note, the Bible likens water to baptism, salvation,
healing, the Word, cleansing, miracles, and, in the last book of
the bible, the "water of life."
Regarding your questions about distilled water, I really believe
the body needs oxygen in the water. Unless distilled water has had
oxygen added back to it, I would prefer to drink reverse osmosis.
Here again, body builders will drink distilled water three days before
competing because doing so dehydrates the body.
I am blessed to have
access to water that has been filtered four different ways, then
had the oxygen added back.
Question
I just finished reading your article on Chet's web site. I'm
unclear on one point you make. You say that we need oxygen
in the water,
and thus should not drink distilled water.
Maybe I'm not understanding
what you mean. If you removed oxygen from water, it would not
be water, it would be hydrogen. H2O.
2 molecules of hydrogen and 1 molecule of water. Any deviation
from
this and
you don't have water anymore.
Distilling the water simply causes the water to vaporize, leaving
impurities behind, and allows the vapor to condensate on a
clean surface, and thus purifying the water.
Again, maybe I am not understanding what you mean, so if I'm
mistaken in my understanding of your point, please explain!
Answer
That is a very good question. Hopefully I can clear up some
of the confusion. It is impossible to remove oxygen O1 from
the
water which
is part of the composition and unavailable to the body. When
the water is distilled it removes the dissolved oxygen 02
which is
available to the body. If you drop a fish in distilled water,
it will not live
very long, as it cannot breathe. We need the oxygen.
Best
to you,
